David has a background as a commercial litigation practitioner with mediation accreditation in handling financial services disputes; in responding to regulatory interventions involving solicitors and other professionals; and in media and crisis management.
David is a leading City solicitor who has played a major part in developing a specialist City law firm and in influencing the marketplace for City practice through his roles as President of the Law Society of England and Wales and Chair of the City of London Law Society.
His "insider" background combined with his practical awareness provides a rounded perspective which has benefited many professional and corporate clients. Amongst the clients David has advised are many internationally-renowned corporations involved in multi-jurisdictional litigation and arbitration. He is currently advising a number of professional firms on regulatory matters.

His recreation centres around his wife (Jenny), their daughters (Sarah and Louise) and his grandchildren (Louise, again, and Emay) with time for an occasional game of golf as a member of Chigwell, Goodwood and Real Sotogrande golf clubs.
