Elizabeth joined Fox in November 2016 as a Senior Associate specialising in Employment and Dispute Resolution, and was previously at Clarks Legal LLP and Fox Williams LLP.
Elizabeth has a wealth of experience gained advising a wide range of clients from FTSE 100 companies and multi-national corporates to private individuals. Elizabeth’s work involves all stages of High Court actions and arbitrations as well as mediations and advisory work. Elizabeth’s caseload has included disputes relating to property, commercial contracts and shareholder rights; there has been a particular focus on employment and partnership disputes.
Elizabeth is known for her robust, straight-talking, no-nonsense approach and her ability to provide fast and cost-effective advice. She understands and delivers commercially-focused advice against tight timetables.
The range of advice given by Elizabeth to employers and to executives includes claims for discrimination, harassment and unfair dismissal. Elizabeth has particular expertise advising on exit strategies for senior executives and advising corporates on recruitment of senior hires, who often have long notice periods, complex remuneration structures and anti-competition restrictions. This involves careful strategic and tactical planning and a good instinct as to the likely responses of the other side. Elizabeth has gained her commercial instinct from advising numerous employees based in the City, particularly in the banking and legal sectors.
Elizabeth has advised both employers and senior executives on breach of employment contract claims and worked on Societe Generale -v- Raphael Geys  EWCA Civ 307 (€12 million bonus for ‘super banker’ sacked for being too successful).
Injunctions are often considered in cases involving breaches of restrictive covenants and misappropriation of confidential information. Elizabeth has obtained injunctions to restrain unlawful activity and Court orders to preserve evidence and to seize property.
Elizabeth advises partners and firms on a range of partnership disputes. Elizabeth has advised magic circle law partners on their exit strategies, and disputes regarding profit share and breach of the duty of good faith.
Elizabeth is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
