Fox & Partners, the City contentious employment and partnership boutique, has strengthened its litigation bench with the appointment of Nikki Edwards, enhancing the firm’s capability across complex, high-stakes, business relationship disputes.

Nikki Edwards joins Fox & Partners from Howard Kennedy LLP, where she was a Partner. She has spent the past 20 years in private practice, including 4 years at Quinn Emanuel, specialising in high-stakes, sensitive boardroom and shareholder conflict, business fraud and corporate disputes.

Fox & Partners’ litigation practice focuses on complex litigation, crisis management and investigations as part of the suite of options available to resolve relationship conflicts within business. The firm is widely recognised for its particular focus on employee and partner competition/business protection disputes, including team move litigation, confidentiality breaches, misuse of confidential information and restrictive covenant disputes.

The addition of Nikki Edwards, alongside other recent hires, adds significant capacity to deal with increased demand for legal advice on these urgent and sensitive issues. The appointments also strengthen the firm’s ability to advise across a broader range of business relationship and corporate disputes, including complex boardroom and shareholder matters.

Nikki has joined Fox & Partners as a partner and brings significant senior litigation experience. She is well known in the London litigation market as a trial solicitor and mediation advocate and currently serves as President of the London Solicitors Litigation Association (LSLA), which has a membership of around 3,750 lawyers. A key focus during her tenure has been development of the legal profession in supporting progress in diversity, equality and inclusion and helping to ensure junior lawyers are given the opportunities and support they need to thrive.

Nikki is also an experienced commercial mediator and was recognised at the last National Mediation Awards, where she won Mediation Advocate of the Year for her role as a solicitor representing parties in mediation.

On her appointment, Nikki commented: “This is an exciting opportunity to focus on the work I love to do, alongside partners whose values and long term business outlook closely align with mine. I’m looking forward to building on the firms existing success and contributing to its grown in a meaningful way.”

Caroline Field, Partner specialising in dispute resolution and litigation at Fox & Partners said: “Nikki’s appointment, alongside other recent hires, strengthens our litigation bench and reinforces our position as a premium contentious employment and partnership boutique in the City.”

“Nikki experience will support the increased demand for business protection litigation which the firm has become known for, as well as expanding our litigation offering and capacity to advise on other types of business dispute, such as shareholder disputes and business critical disputes with suppliers and customers.
