Dean is a partner. He joined Fox & Partners in October 2011 and was previously at Ashurst LLP and Maclay Murray & Spens LLP.
Dean has acted for respondent employers, LLP members and employees on injunctions, restrictive covenants, team moves, partnership disputes, wrongful dismissal, breach of contract, discrimination and whistleblowing claims. He also has extensive experience advising on the employment aspects of a wide variety of M&A, private equity and outsourcing transactions, as well as workforce restructurings. Dean has a keen interest in corporate governance issues and has advised both companies and directors on their responsibilities under the UK Corporate Governance Code, the FCA Remuneration Code, the Takeover Code and recommended best practice.
Dean advises on bonus and carried interest schemes, service agreements, disciplinary and grievance matters and the termination of employment of senior executives, including the tax rules for severance payments. He has been involved with negotiating exit packages for Senior Managers, and FCA Approved Persons employed by UK, US and European banks and other financial institutions. In addition he has presented client seminars and delivered keynote speeches on topics such as TUPE and the Bribery Act 2010.
Dean is recommended by The Legal 500 2015 for Partnership law.
Dean’s professional experience has included being a non-Council member of the Law Society Remuneration Committee and sitting on a peer review panel for Oxford University Press. He is a member of the Industrial Law Society, the Association of Partnership Practitioners and the Employment Lawyers Association.
Outside work Dean is a member of the Pall Mall House Committee of the Royal Automobile Club.
