Fox partners Ivor Adair and Dean Fuller have contributed an article to Personnel Today reviewing the implications of the recent Uber judgment in the Supreme Court for fixed share partners in law firms and other partnerships. They point out that fixed share partners inLLPs could argue that they are actually employees, with added statutory rights, and that partnerships ought to be particularly alive to the risk of legal challenges in the open forum of an employment tribunal, particularly in relation to expulsions and forced retirements of fixed share partners.
